Wireless smart camera network for real-time human 3D pose reconstruction
نویسنده
چکیده
A multiple-camera system for 3D pose reconstruction is presented. First, body parts of the user are detected. Each camera has a single-instruction multiple-data (SIMD) processor used to perform this heavy-load image processing task. The detected hand and head candidate positions are then transmitted wirelessly from each camera to a central processor using a low-power ZigBee network. Finally, the 3D pose reconstruction is performed at the central processor by combining the data in a probabilistic manner.

Samba: A Real-Time Motion Capture System Using Wireless Camera Sensor Networks
There is a growing interest in 3D content following the recent developments in 3D movies, 3D TVs and 3D smartphones. However, 3D content creation is still dominated by professionals, due to the high cost of 3D motion capture instruments. The availability of a low-cost motion capture system will promote 3D content generation by general users and accelerate the growth of the 3D market. In this pa...
متن کاملOn Optimal Multi-Sensor Network Configuration for 3D Registration
Multi-sensor networks provide complementary information for various tasks like object detection, movement analysis and tracking. One of the important ingredients for efficient multi-sensor network actualization is the optimal configuration of sensors. In this work, we consider the problem of optimal configuration of a network of coupled camera-inertial sensors for 3D data registration and recon...
متن کاملMulti-sensor 3D Volumetric Reconstruction Using CUDA
Abstract * This paper presents a full-body volumetric reconstruction of a person in a scene using a sensor network, where some of them can be mobile. The sensor network is comprised of couples of camera and inertial sensor (IS). Taking advantage of IS, the 3D reconstruction is performed using no planar ground assumption. Moreover, IS in each couple is used to define a virtual camera whose image...
متن کاملEfficient Online Surface Correction for Real-time Large-Scale 3D Reconstruction
State-of-the-art methods for large-scale 3D reconstruction from RGB-D sensors usually reduce drift in camera tracking by globally optimizing the estimated camera poses in real-time without simultaneously updating the reconstructed surface on pose changes. We propose an efficient on-the-fly surface correction method for globally consistent dense 3D reconstruction of large-scale scenes. Our appro...
متن کاملReal-Time 3D Body Pose Estimation
This chapter presents a novel approach to markerless real-time 3D pose estimation in a multi-camera setup. We explain how foreground-background segmentation and 3D reconstruction are used to extract a 3D hull of the user. This is done in real time using voxel carving and a fixed lookup table. The body pose is then retrieved using an example-based classifier that uses 3D Haar-like wavelet features...
